HIGHER_ORDER_FLUX_INTEGRATION ============================= Arepo uses normally only one point to approximate the integral of the flux over a face. This is only exact for linear polynomials. This option uses Gauss-Legendre rules to evaluate the flux at different points and integrate polynomials of order HIGHER_ORDER_FLUX_INTEGRATION exact. This can reduce the mesh noise and typically HIGHER_ORDER_FLUX_INTEGRATION = 3 is sufficient. It is especially useful for shear flows. In 2d it only requires an additional flux calculation, in 3d it becomes much more expensive. There exists a vectorized version of the method that reduces the additional run time by around 70%, please contact Oliver Zier for more information.
